Media Release: SolarHub Donates Solar PV System to Smith’s Road Community Hall and Fire Shed

February 2016

SolarHub, an ACT based solar power company, have recently donated and installed a 2.5kW solar PV system on the Smith’s road community hall fire shed.

The community hall and fire shed is situated 9.7km south of Tharwa, NSW, and 90km north of Cooma. It stores essential fire firefighting equipment, and is also used for hosting community events, training sessions, and as a safe house in emergencies.

The Smith’s road rural fire crew attended the bush fire at Clear Range, located south of Canberra, near the ACT/NSW border in December 2015.

“This is a big milestone for our small community and one we have been seeking to achieve for some time.” John Hayhoe, representative of Smith’s Road Community Group.

Benn Masters, Director of SolarHub commented “Having a solar system will help them reduce their electricity bills and make running costs more manageable.

“SolarHub is proud to have been able to give back to the community, and to help those that work selflessly and give up their own time to help others.”
